Animal Spirits

​Animal spirits bring out aggression,
food for capitalistic growth.
Beware of the downside, 
disregard for future succession.
The strong will survive, 
the weak stumble.
Wisdom dictates,
power brokers need to be humble.
Show care and concern for all of our people,
Humanism is more than churches with steeples.
What’s good for one is good for all too.
Share good fortune with others,
don’t just look out for you.
We can all grow together,
produce more in good measure.
Spread wealth to the many,
fairly distribute our treasure.
Don’t take away incentive to get ahead of the rest.
Just level the playing field,
don’t only favor the best.
Provide benefit to the weak,
take good care of the meek.
Allow access to health care for all,
not just a few.
More than pets and rich households,
include disabled, sick and poor too.
Give incentive for all to contribute and work.
Not collecting a hand out,
relying on the perks.
There must be a good way, a fair way,
to be sure we all thrive.
Don’t let animal spirits just run away freely,
disregarding hope for all, rewarding the greedy.
It will take some disruption,
rooting out the corruption.
If we share wealth and expect contribution from all,
chances for happiness will surely survive.
Opportunity, incentive, fairness and care,
better lives for the many will keep hope alive.
Different systems have problems when taken to extremes,
best of both worlds, ideas can be blended.
Keep incentive to produce, but take care as well,
fairness and justice, our hearts will be mended.
