Green Meadow

​There is a green meadow I still dream about
Up in the high Sierra
A place of comfort in my youth
I go there now and then even still
In my mind, if not in space
It is a peaceful, quiet place
A happy time I remember well
Our visits few and far between
Nonetheless, impact it had
Comfort it brings to think of it
Conjure the feeling of the breeze
Tall grass bending above the knees
Cows grazing here and there, oblivious
To how much impact their home had on us
I will return there one of these days
Not easy to find the time or ways
To put everything aside to make this trip
Lines on my face reflect the time its been
Since last I experienced that gentle place
Sun and wind upon my face
Sharing laughs with one another
Friend and cousin, sister, mother
Camping underneath the great Sequoias
Tall, majestic, passing time
A place of comfort for you to define
Ease your mind in times of stress
Relax, breath deep, recall mental pictures
Something meaningful, magical, connected space
Bring back the feelings you felt back then
Allow that sense to permeate your being
Like giving in to a better state
Remove clutter and mind can compensate
Take that feeling with you now
Find a way, you must know how
Change worry, fear, to more positive emotion
Reflect on new circumstances and solutions
Alter your views if they don’t serve you well
Inside your chest your heart will swell
With better and more ideal conditions 
To give life new meaning, defy conventions
Decide inside what makes your life right
Make decisions that advance your cause
Be confident in yourself and your inner drive
With enough reason it will keep your dreams alive
Pursue with sense of integrity
Do not give up, just find the why
Different ways you may have to try
Find those who have done this thing you want to do
Use what they have learned to shorten your course
Tap into the energy of eternal source
And always remember your green meadow
