If not always in practice
Attitudes and opinions
Tested patience gets tired and weary

Fear and belief
Points of contention and grievance
For those less inclined to be social
Solitude brings sense of relief

Understand preference, interactive inclination
Some souls enjoy constant companions
Enabled balance to find
Giving space for altruistic intention

Open target, sensitive when you’re hit
Rumination, replay, holding on
Wearing heart on your sleeve
Grow callus, thicken skin just a bit

Understand need, discover motivation
Similar in many ways to your own
Just different priorities
Varied tolerance for frustration

Know there is common ground there
The same needs for all people
Different ways of expressing them
Perceived threats best be aware

Recognize connection, core of our nature
Bring us closer together
All want to be happy, all with fault
Reduce irritation and displeasure

When they are acting unreasonable
Give others benefit of the doubt
Find the goodness within them
Even if it’s hardly achievable

Know they feel blocked or obstructed
If mean, mad, angry, unruly
Fear of losing something important
Afraid better life will not be constructed

Help see a way out of the problem
Reassure them if you can
Cooperation and creativity 
The best ways combined to solve them

To those that most irritate you
Having trouble showing kindness
Direct your loving feelings back inward
Regain balance, soon feel renewed
