Spring Again

​Spring has finally arrived here in the Northeast
It has taken its time, meandering slowly
The long grip of winter finally yielding, relenting
Snow melted at last, streams pouring down hills
Water level rising, the air with less chill
Trees budding quickly, sprouts rising higher
Grass green again, birds singing loudly
Up with the sun, the days getting longer
Flowers bloom next, adding color and scent
All signs of life coming out of their slumber
Energy abounds, people setting new goals
Outside more often, patching the holes
Planting again, prepare for new growth
The cycle of life, renewing and thriving
The earth, sun and water, giving, providing
Optimism in the air, we can do what we try
Don’t hold yourself back, reach for the sky
