Have you ever thought about the meaning of life? It is a complex question contemplated by philosophers since the early days of civilization. Should you care? As humans we have the ability to think about complex questions, as well as find solutions to complex problems. We can be creative in advancing our interests and those of our species. We have the capacity to look beyond our self interest and to address problems faced by other people, as well as other species of life. We are not born with the accumulated knowledge of mankind but we benefit from the results of thousands of years of organized civilization and scientifically derived understanding and advancement. We can build on this accumulation of knowledge, but we need a place to start that gives our lives some structure. This framework will allow you to make sense of what could otherwise be seen as chaotic, disordered, and confusing. We also face many challenges in life as we grow up and become independent. Some problems we are born into and some are self-inflicted. Developing your framework for living will enable you to face difficulties with resilience and strength. You do have the capacity to influence and improve the quality of your life, no matter what your present circumstances. Learning how to do this as soon as possible is the point of this path.
This path will help you to live more joyfully, to be present, intentional and directive of your actions and your outcomes. You will gain understanding of yourself, your thinking patterns, and drivers of your behavior. You will explore your strengths and weaknesses in order to be more effective. This will help you crystallize your direction, help determine meaning and purpose, and help you focus on your priorities. No matter where we start, we all have the capacity to grow and make progress. These are the big drivers of life satisfaction. Use of this knowledge and these tools will also help relieve pain or suffering that you may be experiencing now.
